Assembling foosball tables are like putting together a startup company
Taking care of co-founders needs to be top priority for the success of the startup company. First line item in our "office," is of course the Foosball Table. Here's the first project we're working on, and given it's not a piece of code nor wireframe, it's good progress in the right direction. It also teaches you a lot about a company and how it all gets started:
It all starts with the people, your users, your employees, your co-founders ...
Then you gotta get some legs for what you're going to do. Sure it might not be holding things up, but having them at all is a good first step.
Fine tuning is always needed, but it's necessary (isn't this easier than setting up Passenger + Ruby enterprise edition, Joe? Probably not)
And then you're ready to go, kind of empty, but it's ready...
Put it in context with where it fits, and it all makes sense!
The next steps in this part of life are going to be big ones. Never has responsibilities ever been so important, challenges so risky, nor potential so big. You might lose a few, you might win a few, sometimes it's all luck, and sometimes it's pure determination.
